Even experienced flyers sometimes experience anxiety about flight. It has been estimated that about one-sixth of the population fears aviation. Overcoming Your Fear of Flying offers education and skill building for frequent flyers as well as those who are considering taking their first flight.

The Next Session
The next Overcoming Your Fear of Flying course will be offered in October 2015. The five-session course runs on five consecutive Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Sijan Conference Room (located inside the Mitchell Gallery of Flight Museum) at General Mitchell International Airport. The $200 course registration fee covers four classroom sessions on the ground. Students are responsible for the cost of the short commercial airline flight as part of the class. Note that the day of the flight could be on a weekday. Reservations are required. The size of the class is limited to 12 people.

Self-guided tours of Mitchell Airport can be informative and enriching for all age groups. Use our handy GMIA Self-Guided Tour Booklet to design a tour for your group's needs. Groups may visit the exhibits in the Mitchell Gallery of Flight aviation history museum and watch activity on the airfield from the windows of the fifth floor skywalk or Concourse C corridor.
